Das war es mit dem Kino, aber das war es noch nicht mit den massigen Mukel-Monat. Wir schwenken rüber zum Streaming. Auf Netflix bekommen wir nämlich Judd Apatows neue Komödie »The Bubble«, mit der er dieshalb, natürlich stargespickt, die Blockbuster-Filmproduktion, zumal unter Coronabedingungen, durchleuchtet. »The King of Staten Island« zeigte zuletzt erneut, dass der Mann clevere Comedy in überlänge kann, schön schräge Charaktere zu erfinden weiß und plumpe Albernheit mühelos umsegelt. Nicht der übliche Netflix-Rotz, trotz grünem Schleim.

Gewohnt sind wir Wahnsinn auch bei Robert Eggers (»The VVitch«, »Der Leuchtturm«), doch diesmal scheint er völlig am Rad zu drehen. Er hat die Leuchtturminsel verlassen und ballert jetzt mit »The Northman« ein Wikinger-Rache-Epos irgendwo zwischen blutrünstiger Härte und phantasmagorischen Mythologie-Mash-Up ein ganz dickes Ding raus. Wenn im Trailer jemand einen Speer fängt und zurückwirft, bekomme ich schon ein wenig Angst, dass das alles etwas zu drübber werden könnte. Drehbuch wurde von Eggers selbst und dem »Lamb«-Autor verfasst, was auch gemischte Erwartungen bei mir weckt. Aber die gewaltigen Bilder und der Cast, sowie den Kredit, den Eggers mit »Der Leuchtturm« bei mir erworben hat, zwingen mich unweigerlich rein.
